The Samichlaus / Christmas Party was held on the 6th December 2015 at the Saughtonhall Community Centre. It was a joyful get together which was much enjoyed by young and old. The atmosphere was very relaxed and all tucked into an amazing buffet of savoury and sweet gooddies. Even Santa Clause made an appearance and he was rewarded with warm applause as well as musical and poetic contributions from the children. It was a very successful party.

NATIONAL DAY CELEBRATION 2015

The celebration for the National Day was held in North Berwick. Swiss Club Member Irene opened her house and garden for this event. We spent the afternoon enjoying an "Apéro" in good company of the Swiss Gospel Choir. The event was well attended and people took the opportunity to have a great catch up with each other.
TRIP TO THE KELPIES 2015
JUNE 2015
The Swiss Club Edinburgh organised a trip to the Kelpies near Falkirk on the 21 June 2015. It was not a spectacular day weather wise as you may have gathered from the few photographs. Some of us met there, braved the bitter cold wind and proceeded to follow our guide for what transpired a very interesting morning. Andy Scott, Sculptor and Artist is responsible for this most unique work of art. As we had a guide, we were able to get inside one of the "horses" and admire the enormity of the task he had to face in the building of the Kelpies. Once the tour was completed and in dire need for some sustenance and warmth we drove to the Park Bistro in Linlithgow for a most enjoyable lunch and much needed increase of body temperature. lncidentally there is a book by Herbert James Draper for those who might be interested in Kelpies.

For the first time the traditional Fondue Dinner was held at the Saughtonhall Community Centre. We all enjoyed a diverting evening and a lovely Fondue.

The Annual Dinner of the Swiss Club Edinburgh took place on 23rd January 2015 at the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh. It was a great evening in beautiful surroundings. We also had the wonderful opportunity of welcoming two new couples to the Swiss Club. We especially wished Sandra and Daniel Wenk the best of luck for their venture with their Swiss Bakery. A superb evening which was much appreciated by all.
